Objectives

By the end of this course, students will:
  • Understand the essential concepts of the topics focus: Design for mass production
  • Understand the essential concepts of the methods focus: Strategic industrial design (consultancy)
  • Understand the essential concepts of the practice focus: Design within visual brand identity (VBL)
  • Know how to navigate a design team environment
     

Course Materials

  • Students use a variety of materials in this course
  • Alternative materials may be explored or needed on a per project basis as you explore your ideas
  • Be creative and responsible (share, recycle etc.)
  • Plan ahead when ordering online
  • All project deadlines must be met, and late delivery of materials or last-minute shopping is not valid as an excuse for late work
  • All required readings will be posted to Carmen
     

Course Organization

This is a 3 credit hour course that meets in person twice a week for 2:20 each day
