Design MFA Student Yeoleum Choi's Thesis Film Presto Agitato Screens Internationally
Presto Agitato, Until All We Vanished--completed in January by Design MFA student Yeoleum Choi as part of her ongoing thesis work--has made a remarkable impact on the international festival circuit throughout 2025. The film was selected for multiple screenings across Asia and Europe, including an Official Competition berth at the Paris Korean Film Festival held October 28–November 4.
Choi attended the festival in Paris, where Presto Agitato was screened to international audiences. She participated in a Guest Visit interview to discuss the film and also joined a Roundtable Discussion at the Korean Cultural Center in Paris, exchanging insights with fellow directors about contemporary Korean filmmaking and the working environment for women creators.
Choi’s film was also featured in several notable competitions and events across Asia, including the World University Animation Awards in Hong Kong, Seoul Indie-AniFest in Korea, and the Jeongdongjin Independent Film Festival in Korea.
Presto Agitato – Named after the musical term meaning “very fast,” this animation follows insects as they hurriedly flee and disappear across a musical score. Set to the dramatic and powerful music of Beethoven, the film portrays the causes of mass insect extinction and the resulting collapse of the ecosystem in a tragic and evocative way.
The Department of Design celebrates Yeoleum’s accomplishments and looks forward to following the continued success of Presto Agitato on the global festival stage.
