The Estrella High-Rise Unites Ohio State Students and Design Professionals

The Spring Term brings a unique opportunity between Ohio State Design's VLab and a local real estate developer, Bluestone Brothers. In this year’s Collaborative Studio, six teams of industrial, visual communication, and interior design upperclassmen will work closely with a design team comprised of Bluestone Brothers (Developer), Berardi Partners (Architect), Realm Collaborative (Landscape Architect) and Dune House Creative (Interior Designer) to investigate the interior and exterior graphics, signage, and wayfinding design for spatial layouts, user flow experiences, accessibility considerations, and community engagement opportunities for The Estrella, a forthcoming high-rise mixed-use tower in downtown Columbus.

The Estrella promises to be a beacon of modern urban development, and the involvement of students from Ohio State University in its design process marks an exciting collaboration between academia and industry. The project is a testament to the vibrant and collaborative spirit of Columbus's design community and the Department of Design's dedication to fostering practical, community-focused education.
