Raven Serenity Glover, showcased design research at IASDR in Milan
Raven Serenity Glover, a third year MFA DAIM student, recently showcased research at the International Association of Societies of Design Research (IASDR) conference at Politecnico di Milano in Milan, Italy. The theme of the conference was "Life-Changing Design."
Co-authored with Associate Professor Yvette Shen, their short paper titled “Tracking Acts of Kindness through Comics: An Experimental Study” investigates the innovative use of comics for visualizing personal behavioral data. Focusing on acts of kindness in the context of a Positive Psychology course, the study introduced a prototype experiment that leverages the visual language of comics for capturing and conveying the narrative structure of qualitative behavioral data, including temporal patterns, actions, and emotional responses. Preliminary findings highlight comics as an impactful medium for personal reflection and expression, offering individuals a creative and engaging method to track and visualize their altruistic activities.
