Ohio State is in the process of revising websites and program materials to accurately reflect compliance with the law. While this work occurs, language referencing protected class status or other activities prohibited by Ohio Senate Bill 1 may still appear in some places. However, all programs and activities are being administered in compliance with federal and state law.

Rae Watters (he/they) is a second-year DAIM student and MFA candidate in the Department of Design. He has a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science and Engineering, with a specialization in Game Design and Development. He also has a minor in Game Studies. Both of these degrees were acquired at Ohio State.

Rae has worked on many game development projects with their fellow classmates. On these teams, he contributed to the code, art, narrative, and music of the games. He enjoys delving into all forms of art, especially when it comes to being on a design team. Rae is the President of Buck That! Acappella at OSU. Consequently, he loves singing and performance. Outside of school, he has worked as an actor, drag performer, and video editor, portraying fictional characters and creating creative content.

His research focuses on queerness, more specifically transgender persons, in interactive media spaces. He sees video games as explorations of queerness, and believes them to be powerful artifacts in the social movement for queer rights and understanding. As someone who is a member of the community, he finds it necessary to explore the intersections of technology and the complexities of being a queer human being.
